Event Planning - Facility Protection Guide

The Facility Protection Guide has been developed to ensure that our facility is maintained at the best appearance level possible. This manual outlines approved equipment and materials that can be used by service contractors while working in our facility.

Key items to note while using this reference include:

Listings of approved equipment/materials used by service contractors
Additional Listings of equipment/materials that can be provided on a limited or "as available" basis by McCormick Place.
An appendix providing examples of equipment and reference information.
Activities that fall outside these established parameters. Such activities are not allowed. If special conditions exist, the contractor may apply for a temporary (one time only) waiver of procedures by submitting a written plan to the General Manager a minimum of 30 days prior to the event.
McCormick Place Security Department personnel contact information. Security will monitor the work done involving an approved exception to assure that the agreed procedures are executed. A fee will be charged for this service equal to the prevailing hourly labor rate.

In addition to these Facility Protection Guidelines, color-coded public space floor plans are also available to contractors and event customers. These floor plans provide placement guidelines for event support equipment (entrance units, signage, counters, tables, etc.) used in public areas.
