Energy Conservation

To make the buildings more energy efficient, the following greening initiatives have been implemented:
  • Compact fluorescent bulbs are now used throughout the facility in place of incandescent lamps
  • Variable frequency drives on HVAC motors are utilized throughout the Campus.
As part of standard operating practices, McCormick Place has taken the initiative to:
  • Turn off lights and non-essential escalators in areas which are not in use.
  • Provide minimal HVAC in buildings and spaces during move-in, move-out and non-event days.
At a customer's request, McCormick Place will:
  • Adjust heating and cooling set points to more efficient levels and times.
